PH 4½-3½ GLASS Floor Lamp
PH & Louis Poulsen's partnership (1925-67) created glare-free lighting & soft shadows with incandescent bulbs. The 3/2 Academy (2000) was one of 30 lights in a three-shade line (3 outdoor models). PH's system offered 1000s of variants, colors & sizes. Logarithmic spiral ensured even light distribution while glass diffused light, reducing glare & shadows. Each shade reduces light equally; 3/2 Academy has 30 cm top shades & 2/2 lower shades.
Light concept
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown opal three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matt on the underside, giving a soft and diffused light distribution.
