Glass dining tables have a unique advantage in Hong Kong apartments: they let light pass through, making compact dining areas feel more open and spacious. When that glass comes from Italy — where artisan glassmaking has been refined over centuries — you get something truly special.
At MyConcept, we carry two of Italy's finest glass furniture makers: Sovet Italia and FIAM. This guide covers what makes Italian glass tables different, how to choose between the two brands, and which models work best for Hong Kong living.
Sovet Italia was founded in the late 1980s by six Trevisan glaziers in northeast Italy. Today they produce some of the most refined glass and ceramic furniture in the world. We carry 86 Sovet pieces spanning dining tables, coffee tables, consoles, mirrors, sideboards, and chairs.

Slim Extendable — The flagship. A glass or ceramic top on die-cast aluminium legs with a smooth extension mechanism. Extends from a 4-person table to 6-8 people in seconds. Prices from HK$28,498.
Frog — Round glass table with a sculptural crossed-leg base. The round shape is ideal for Hong Kong apartments — no sharp corners, easier traffic flow.
Arkos — Architectural design with a bold geometric base. Statement piece for larger dining rooms.
FIAM specialises in curved glass — bending sheets of tempered glass into fluid, sculptural forms that seem to defy physics.

Rialto Side Table — A single sheet of curved glass forming both surface and support. Almost invisible in a room.
Neutra Coffee Table — Low-profile curved glass with a floating effect. Ideal for living rooms.
Ragno Console — Glass console with angular, spider-like legs. A statement piece for entryways.
| Sovet Italia | FIAM | |
|---|---|---|
| Style | Modern, clean, versatile | Sculptural, artistic, bold |
| Specialty | Flat glass + ceramic tops | Curved glass |
| Dining tables | Wide range, many extendable | Limited, more accent pieces |
| Price range | Mid to premium | Premium to luxury |
| Extendable options | Yes, multiple models | No |
Our recommendation: For a primary dining table, start with Sovet — especially the Slim Extendable. For accent pieces that double as art, FIAM is unmatched. Many customers combine both.

Glass tables are actually easier to maintain than wood: wipe daily with a damp microfibre cloth, use glass cleaner weekly. Ceramic tops are even easier — resistant to scratches, heat, and stains.
